This modestly priced speaker offers 75 Watts of bi-amplification, powering a magnetically shielded 5″ woofer and 1″ tweeter, all housed in a flashy, minimal-resonance, bass-ported cabinet, replete with a cleverly mounted combination power switch and clip light.

It took me probably a half hour in trying different switch combinations on each monitor to get the sound I needed and expected, and for their price and size they are very good, indeed.
They have worked well to allow me to actkve songs, work on orchestrations, etc. The room adjustment controls are nice, but hard to use since they are at the back of the speaker.
I only use then for mixing vocals, they ard okay for mixing beats but bass is not good so its kinda hard. I’ve been recording in a home studio setting since MIDI and digital audio was in it’s infancy in the mid 80’s, and I can recommend these s without reservation.

You won’t be sorry you bought these!! Can’t find a better value at this price range or even higher without going way up in budget – definitely worth it and then some.

A subwoofer m11 always be added if a really boomy bass is required, but as they are is fine for me. Instruments sound naturally and with plenty of detail. Remember they are recording monitors so you have to be in front of them. I was a little skeptical how much bass they would have but they are great.
They look very reliable and do not heat too much THey have a little hiss and buzz, but it is nomal for active speakers, passives have no practically. The trick to effective j1 from these monitors is to have the switches on the back set at the corrent positions.
The M1Active ultimately represents an affordable solution for project and commercial recording or video production facilities.
