Jul 08, Julie rated it liked it Shelves: I liked how more of a strong personality appeared near the end of the book, especially as she dealt with Fia and Lord Carr. It gave every aspect of the story enough explanation and didn’t skip parts of it. It’s never made clear to us whether Philip is gay or not; perhaps Philip, himself, doesn’t know. But then again, she’s just her father’s aid. I look forward to reading more of Brockway as always.
But they were turned away without even a bite of food. Oh, and there’s a dog, too! Thomas was one who judged her and probably one of the only people who ever really hurt her because of it.
While the McClairens survived a lot of history, they weren’t raivshing fortunate with the Stuart Risings; and they joined in with Bonnie Prince Charlie and were ruined at Culloden. A wonderfully written book, dark and very romantic.
They persuade Ash to remain until May Day, because Rhiannon wishes to once again be the Virgin Queen of May Day, and then 2 days past that brockwxy her wedding day to Philip Watt, whereby Rhiannon will no longer be under Carr’s guardianship.
Superb Scottish Historical Romance! I think one of the biggest problems is that I just couldn’t like any of the main characters. Ups and downs in some of the writing, which restrict me from calling this series a “favorite”, but overall a very well written, intriguing historical romance. I has been years since I read the first two books in this series so it took a little cnonie for me to get into this tue.
She has wonderful analogies and lines that put you in the moment “It had been waiting for her return for a decade, like a witch’s unwanted familiar.

I couldn’t figure out the problem that Carr made of borckway. Feb 24, Regan Walker rated it it was amazing Shelves: I was blown away by this Scottish historical romance. Woman is kidnapped by a guy who dislikes her, taken to Scotland, he ends up dueling with her brother or friend.
There’s connir much unhappiness, too many manipulations, too much hatred Other books in the series. I thought it was tacky, really. Ivon rated it really liked it Ravidhing 02, She is betrothed to a handsome Englishman, and while neither is in love, it is a good match for Rhiannon.
