Just writing the review makes me want to read it again so I can write a better review. Tapi setelah itu, mulai agak membosankan lagi hingga sampai pada klimaksnya–yang nggak sanggup saya baca semuanya karena selain udah rerrato penasaran sama endingnya, saya juga masih nggak kuat baca isi otaknya Norman. There is a disturbing moment at the beginning of the novel, borrowed from Hitchcock but subtly and swiftly used, when Norman, having beaten his wife badly enough to cause a miscarriage, decides to call the hospital.

She then remembers that Rose Madder, perhaps foreseeing the problem, allowed her to take some dangerous seeds home with her, and Rose plants the last remaining seed, along with Norman’s police ring, in a secret grove by her favorite lake and finds the seed grows into a beautiful but deadly tree.
He had so little nuance that he started to seem more like a caricature than an actual character. He didn’t know about the x, but he was coming to believe that the first two letters in fax stood for Fucked Again.
Carrie can read minds as well as move objects, and a phrase used about her helps us to see something else these novels are about: View all 3 comments. It’s the ending that brought it down several notches for me.

Rtrato I thought the section at the end was mostly extraneous, providing no more closure than the scene in the labyrinth did.

A plane leaves Los Angeles and flies through a fold in time into the past—or rather into an alternative world which the present has abandoned, into the past as it would be if it vanished the moment we turned our backs on it. King also takes the time to allude to multiple instances of sexual and physical abuse in his past by his own father, and while he saves us from ever directly implying that this past is an excuse for his crimes, I worried while reading how this might have been interpreted by other readers in the past.
Por fin Rose Daniels se ha decidido: It lost it’s spark. One area bothered me. We are back in the world of Carrie, where rage is both understandable and terrifying.
But Rosie keeps looking over her shoulder afraid that Norman will find her because Norman is a detective, and his job is finding missing persons. The thing I disliked about these two duel worlds was that they seemed to rob each other of credibility. He mader so impressed that he offers her a job recording audiobooks. The sentences tell a story in a way that only mader could.
But as an adult with a more nuanced view of feminism, it’s now clear to me just how awful this book is. And could be sure of getting away with it? The first half of the book is really good and I enjoyed it very much.

It’s an interesting storyline to follow that rings true to victims of abuse of any kind, who often have to deal with the festering anger in them and the fear that they may one day unleash that on their loved ones, becoming the abuser in a new cycle of violence.
I’ve seen a lot of less-than-positive reviews of this particular King, but I loved it. View all dd comments. It does, which was a nice surprise, but it’s very, very loosely connected.
