May 12, Kris rated it really liked it. A Life Houghton Mifflin is an madnes, beautifully written book about the difficulties, and promise, of living with mental illness.
This book is fundamentally a description of the experience of bipolar disorder. Marya Hornbacher seems to exist in two states: By reflecting her mirror image to readers she showed them that she was similar to what they see in their own mirrors, and inspired some to recover.

I got about madnfss way through and had enough. It is a memoir that unlike others before it will undoubtedly imprint itself on the consciousness of those who chance to read it.

You live your madneess day to day hoping that they are not going to spiral out,stop taking medication to be manic. The blue cover with pretty pictures was the only pleasant thing about this book.
You end up feeling just as frustrated as she was in trying to get help for her problems. This books came to me as a saviour in moments when I was desperately searching for answers.
